1A Fuse for FP Gauge Power Wire

Searched the archives and didn't see any mention of this, and I apologize if it sounds too 'n00bish.'

(This is for the Autometer Full Sweep FP gauge)

The instructions say that that the power wire for the control module needs to be protected by a 1A fuse.

Now, I'm wondering how important is it if I don't immediately connect it to a fused source? Every other power supply in the Prelude is protected by at least a 7.5A fuse.

Also, how would I go about doing this? I know of unused fuse slots, where I can attach the fuse, but how would I bring the power supply wire, and the wire for the control module?

Yes, it's for safety measures in case your car has a short. Autometer recommends 1A fuse or 3A fuse (either one will be fine). Any autoparts store will have fuse holder for a couple of bucks..just put it in the hot wire somewhere before the autometer box.

What I did with mine was run an inline fuse holder with the power wire and attach the power wire to a source and voila
